1949年，中华人民共和国成立。经过连年战乱，中华大地山河残破，百业待兴。然而正当全国人民齐心合力建设新家园之时，却有领导干部在权力的宝座上迅速腐化堕落。 1950年夏，天津爆发洪涝灾害。时任天津地委书记的刘青山（李国华 饰）和行署专员的张子善的干部到地方视察灾情，机关干部赵子平为了巴结领导，挪用公家资金为刘、张设立伙食补贴和特别经费。在此之后，赵又抓住各种机会向刘等人提供住房和商业实惠。以此为契机，刘、张伙同赵子平悍然盗窃国家救济粮、治河专款、干部家属救济粮、地方粮、克扣民工粮款，甚至挪用机场修建费，给国家造成巨大损失。 1951年，“三反”、“五反”运动兴起。在天津地委副书记林克俭的检举下，刘青山和张子善的遵行彻底暴露，他们也为自己的行为复出应有的代价……
Marilyne et Bruno Caron arrivent dans un village de montagne pour emménager dans un chalet qu’ils ont loué à Patrick Castang, promoteur et propriétaire de nombreuses habitations dans la région. Contents de quitter le nord de la France pour démarrer une nouvelle vie, ils acceptent sans sourciller quand Castang leur annonce qu’il va les loger momentanément dans un autre chalet de grand standing car le leur n’est pas terminé. S’ensuivra alors une succession de déconvenues qui va les conduire à déménager de nombreuses fois, avec le sentiment grandissant d’être traités sans aucune considération, alors même que les Castang multiplient patiemment et avec bienveillance les efforts envers eux. Les relations entre les deux familles vont se tendre. Bruno et Marilyne Caron ne supportent plus d’avoir sous leurs yeux le bonheur et l’abondance de biens des Castang. Leur amertume, alimentée par la jalousie, l’envie et la frustration, finira par devenir de la haine.
The film tells of how street sweeper Alonso (played by Roberto Álamo) and tarot reader Marisa (Malena Alterio), the proprietors of a delicatessen Torres and Fátima (Jordi Sánchez and María Botto), plastic surgeon Calatrava (Julián López) and influencer Vicky (Kira Miró) have booked a house in the middle of nowhere on the Canary Islands, where they hope to spend the best holidays of their lives with their respective broods. What they don’t know is that, because of a mistake made by the travel agency they used, they have all rented the same house. And none of them is willing to back out, although there is not much of an alternative anyway, which means that they will be forced to share the same living space for the whole of the summer. The glaring differences between each and every one of the occupants will turn these days into a chaotic series of entertaining and messed-up situations. Despite this whole disaster, they have to learn how to live together and how to understand all of these wildly different people – and, above all else, themselves.
