In each episode, four bladesmiths compete in a three-round elimination contest to forge bladed weapons, with the overall winner receiving $10000 and the day's championship title. The series is hosted by Wil Willis, with a three-judge panel consisting of J. Neilson, David Baker, and Doug Marcaida, experts in weapon history and use. During Season 3, Neilson took a leave of absence in order to have surgery on his hand; Jason Knight, another ABS Master Smith, filled his seat on the judges' panel during this time.

本季赛制全面升级，创新引入PBL（问题驱动教学法）项目挑战模式，模拟真实学习场景。比赛分为三轮递进式竞技：抢位赛（考验空间几何等个人能力）→ 团队轮答赛（1小时极速研读资料，涵盖幻方、数独、古诗词等多元内容）→ 项目挑战赛（最终PBL实操，如搭建立体四阶幻阵融合古诗词）。首期节目中，十位少年分为两支战队，由王宇轩和陈铭意分别带队，仅有一支队伍能晋级。
