　　剧集根据科尔森·怀特黑德撰写，获得普利策小说奖的同名作品改编，讲述黑奴女孩科拉为逃离佐治亚的种植园，而寻找传闻中的“地下铁道”，而就在寻找的过程中，她发现真的存在着字面意义的地下铁道，帮助奴隶们逃离残酷的生活。詹金斯将执导全部11集，每集1小时。
