鉴于卢米埃尔兄弟发明的摄影机拍摄的早期短片多年来一直没有很好的修复版本，卢米埃尔学会于2013年起与法国电影资料馆、法国闪电集团、意大利博洛尼亚修复实验室等多家机构联合对卢米埃尔摄影机拍摄150部左右的影片进行4k分辨率的扫描修复。 由于每部影片都很短，因此卢米埃尔学会的负责人、也是戛纳电影节的节目总监福茂将其中114部影片按照不同的主题进行分类，组合在一起后凑成一个总长95分钟左右的合集，取名《卢米埃尔！冒险开始》。这个合集在2015年5月的戛纳电影节做了120周年特别放映，法国总理也到场捧场。放映采用了类似弁士讲解的方式，观众在观看影片的同时，还收听到了福茂的同步讲评。
